Leaning Tower in Pisa

Those who have visited Pisa have, no doubt, gone straight to stand a few feet below its famed leaning tower and taken the characteristic “I'm holding up the building” photo shot. Many visitors snap their cameras and are ready to move on. However if you visit Pisa and only spend time upon its Campo dei Miracoli (field of Miracles) you will be missing out on the rest of a very marvellous city that is rich in history.

Pisa

Pisa’s famed landmark, the Leaning Tower, is situated upon the grassy Campo dei Miracoli Square, where travellers may sit and enjoy a bag lunch if they choose while gawking at this architectural wonder and snap away their camera’s shutter button.

Along with the tower, this square, referred to as Piazza del Duomo by local Pisans, also houses other monuments, which include a Camposanto, Baptistery, Cattedrale and two museums. Be advised that there is an admission charge to enter into the Campo dei Miracoli to see these momuments.
