Marienplatz in Munich
Every time I go to Munich I have to include Marienplatz in my visiting list. It's located right in the middle of everything. From the square you can see a number of sites including Altes Rathaus (Old Town Hall), Neus Rathaus (New City Hall), the glockenspiel, the frauenkirche, Saint Peter's Church and more.
There's also a bunch of restaurants, bars and stores as well as the central market (viktualienmarkt). When visiting Munich hire a car and get to see the entire city, because this city has a lot to offer and a rental car is the best way to enjoy it completely.
