A few years ago when I was traveling with a choir we had a few tour dates in England. We were fortunate enough to have time on the day we had a car rental to stop at one of the countries most popular attractions; Warwick Castle.
We were greeted at the gate by an authentically-grubby-looking Medieval jester who was juggling and a few other characters. I remember walking through the castle grounds and finding all kinds of interesting happenings. There was an old man that reminded me of Benjamin Franklin who had a workshop of sorts set up in a tent. He had on a pair of eyeglasses that were strikingly not from this century (though his entire get-up was very authentic) and it was interesting to watch him work.
I don't remember visiting the dungeon at Warwick Castle, knowing me I might have skipped that part of the tour, but I do remember enjoying a fantastic view over the gardens from the Castle tower.
We were lucky to have a nice mini-bus 12 seater car rental to accommodate my traveling choir group, but I think if I have the opportunity to visit Warwick castle again I would like to rent a 4x4 car hire because many of the cobbled streets of the area were very bumpy. You can easily reach Warwick Castle with a car rental from Birmingham Airport or an East Midlands Airport car rental.
