During my stay I have stopped the car rental to check out a few museums and the most impressive by far has been the Museo Nacional de Anthropologia.  Mexico's National Anthropology museum, it contains the greatest collection of artifacts from pre-Colombian cultures in the Americas, as well as several interesting exhibits on other cultures, modern day Mexico, as well as visiting exhibits.  The visiting exhibit during my visit was of Japan, but as I was on a limited time and the museum is simply massive I chose to go directly to ancient Mexican cultures.

Even spending more than 3 hours in the museum I still was only able to explore about one third of its content, but what I did see was fantastic.  It was really surprising for me to learn about some of the traditions of these early cultures through their statues and carvings.  These blissful little smiling statues represent women dancing.

Directly across from the Anthropology Museum is one of the largest green parks in the city, featuring a natural lake and several lovely places to sit and enjoy a nice day.  We chose not to eat in the area as the majority of the options were either fast food or expensive, upscale hotel restaurants.  Instead we drove our car rental over to another part of town and ate at a really nice buffet.
