GMO Bans and Tourism Update

Back in November I reported the great news for travelers by car rental in Peru; thanks to GMO bans in the country those looking to avoid genetically modified foods on vacation can now add Machu Picchu, Peru to their list of must see monuments.  Now, I'm happy to report that my favorite tourist destination of all, Costa Rica has made great strides recently towards becoming GMO-free.

San Carlos, Costa Rica is a beautiful canton full of lush vegetation, cloud forest, rain forest, and numerous farms ranging from small, family operations to huge coffee plantations.  It is also the home of Finca Luna Nueva, en excellent ecolodge and working biodynamic farm.  As reported by Inside Costa Rica, San Carlos is now the 56th canton to declare itself GMO-free!  Hire a car rental in La Fortuna, Costa Rica and rest assured that none of the delicious local fruits and vegetables you eat were genetically modified.
