Car Rental Fuel Policy

Our car rental customers regularly contact our customer support system with questions about the various car rental policies.  Although renting a car through the Carhirex.com booking engine is a straight-forward process with all the policies spelled out in the Rental Conditions, we are always happy to answer any questions before you make your car hire purchase.  

One policy that seems to sneak up on many travelers and can incur unexpected charges is the Fuel Policy.  Simply stated: pick up full, return full.  This means that we promise to send you out from your pick up location with a full tank of fuel, and that you agree to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel.  

If for some reason you are not able to refill the fuel or you forget you will be charged for the missing fuel, and this charge will come from the car rental provider, payable at the rental desk unless otherwise stated in the top section of the Rate Details.  The missing fuel charge from the rental providers will undoubtedly be more expensive than what you would pay at the pump.  In other words, by remember this policy and refilling your rental car before you return it to the car hire company you can save money by avoiding additional fees.
