How To Get Through the Airport Quickly

Everyone wants to get through the airport as quickly as possible.  It's not like there is anything particularly wrong with airports; most are quite nice actually, like a shopping mall with a food court and a heavy emphasis on souvenirs.  Some, like Southampton Airport in England, have particularly nice facilities, 4 and 5 star restaurants, or a hotel with tempting amenities.  However, they represent the gateway between us and our next destination.  While you hear of people renting a car to enjoy the road, rarely do you hear of people flying to enjoy the airport or the plane.  

I will be traveling next week internationally and I was looking for a few tips on how to get through the airport faster.  It seems like most sites have the same advice (pack liquids properly in 100ml containers in a clear ziplock bag, etc), so here I would like to offer some lesser touted tips to get through and to your destination in a jiffy.
