Ancient Pyramids of Teotihuacan, Mexico

Plan a trip to see the amazing pyramid complex of Teotihuacan near Mexico City, Mexico.  Called "the place where men became gods" in the Aztec language Náhuatl, the site of Teotihuacan holds great mystery, beauty, and historical significance.  You can reserve a car hire for your trip to Teotihuacan from Mexico City International Airport.

A close friend of mine is from Mexico and she has been trying to get me to take a trip with her to visit home town near Mexico City.  Since I am not a big fan of traffic, and crowds pollution and all the other things that go along with city life I haven't been so keen on the idea, that is until I recently read about how close the pyramid complex of Teotihuacan is to Mexico City!

Great Goddess, Teotihuacan

I have been interested in pre-Columbian art and culture recently, and the chance to visit the largest Pre-Columbian city in the Americas is one trip I couldn't pass up!  With a car rental from Mexico City we would have the freedom to drive around the site, which is quite large, and conveniently just 45 minutes outside the city.  Though the main attractions are the amazing pyramids, the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Moon, and the Temple of Quetzacotl, there are several other interesting structures and things to do in Teotihuacan.

Teotihuacan is a Great World Mystery, and several unanswered questions surround these magnificent structures; such as how the Teotihuacan lived, how they flourished for more than 500 years, but most importantly why they suddenly lost influence and and vanished.  Perhaps a slight glimpse into these stories can be seen in the other structures on the site, such as the Palace of the Jaguars or the Museo Teotihuacan.
