The village of Caños de Meca in the Cadiz Province of Spain is a small but unspoiled community offering beautiful beaches and stunning cliffs backed by pine trees. Part of what is known as the Costa de la Luz on the Atlantic coast; this sleepy village is one of the top relaxation destinations in Europe. Reserve a cheap Cadiz car hire to get around the village during your stay.
Caños de Meca is not a town you will stumble upon. Located well off the beaten track, you will have to take your Cadiz Province rental car along one of the small side roads off the CN340 coast road near Vejer de la Frontera, or the minor road through the pine forest from Barbate.
Although Caños de Meca is fairly undeveloped and not yet taken over by the tourist industry, there is a lovely restaurant, El Pirata, here which has a beautiful view of the beach and offers excellent seafood dishes. The beach bars here turn into discos in the evening.
The cliffs and pine forests immediately to the east of the village are protected as part of a Natural Park. To the northwest of the town are Cape Trafalgar and a lighthouse.
Known as a windsurfing spot, beaches in this area are also popular for body boarding, surfing, snorkelling, scuba diving, and fishing. Book your car rental for Caños de Meca online before your trip and save money with the best deals and lowest rates available.
