Valentine Bombs and Famous Thais

Hopefully everyone reading this had a happy Valentine's Day, or at least a nice Tuesday this week.  I know the citizens and any travelers by car rental in Bangkok, Thailand had one to remember, and not in a good way.  Three explosions went off in Bangkok Tuesday afternoon, injuring six and mutilating the legs of the bomber.  The UK embassy has issued a travel warning and 14 countries have since followed suit. 

Though the country's security systems have been quite rattled over the events they don't appear to be part of a greater plot or of any danger to tourists in the country.  Still, it is better to keep these events in mind and plan accordingly if you have a reservation for a car rental in Bangkok in the near future.
