San Marco Duomo in Venice
The San Marco’s Duomo in Venice is one of my favourite churches in this beautiful Italian city. The story tells that it was built to house the Egyptian remaining of Marco, brought by Venetian traders.
This Duomo has a bit of a Greek touch and ever since it was built it has been one of the city’s most beautiful sites and pride of its people. Dux Domenico Selvo asked for East marble and precious stones to decorate the church. This is what we see today garnishing its domes and vaults.
