I want to tell about the time I drove from Budapest in car hire to Prague, along with some advice in case you decide to do this yourselves.
First of, in Budapest, if you are going to use highways M1, M3, M5 and M7 is necessary to buy a prepaid sticker, which you may get in main gas stations and border posts. What's so great is that all traffic signs along the road are identical to those in the rest of Europe.
Remember you have to use your seatbelt, hands-free if using your cell phone, and no alcohol, and drive on the right side. Highways are named with an M and international motorways with and E. The one to and from Prague is the M1; from here the E65 and D1 towards Brno take to D1 headed to Prague).
It took me 8 and a half driving hours and it was quite an adventure!
