Exercising in A Car Hire

As the holiday season may see some of us with an ever expanding waistline I thought I would take a moment to address the bulge with a few tips on how to stay in shape while driving in your car rental.  During your Winter Holiday by car rental it might not be possible to keep up your daily fitness routine.  Watch this short video from Wendie Pett on how to do some isometirc exercises with your steering wheel.

For many of us our daily schedule doesn't allow for the time to fully unwind.  Exercise has amazing benefits in all areas of life, including stress relief and restful sleep.  Even if you may not have time to go to the gym or attend a yoga class during your next business trip by car rental you can still work your muscles isometrically, do some conscious breathing, and receive similar benefits to a full workout session at the gym, just by applying focus in traffic or at stop lights in the car hire.

Several famous athletes and bodybuilders have touted the effectiveness of isometrics, including Bruce Lee and Jean Claude Van Damme.  According to this wikipedia article about isometrics, it is a practice that is thousands of years old and has roots or similarities to both yoga and martial arts.  With it's easy portability (you can do it virtually anywhere), time-tested effectiveness, and simplicity it could be just the thing to help improve the fitness of a modern culture who spends countless hours sitting behind the wheel of a car hire.
