Vistula River
The city of Krakow covers both sides of the Vistula (or Wisla) River. The banks of the river are the perfect place to take in some sun and lounge during the summertime, tour the fabled Dragon's Lair, or enjoy the waters on a cruise down the river. During the summer you can park your Krakow car rental near Wawel Castle and board a ship from the harbor there.
Football
Like the rest of Poland and Europe, Krakow loves Football and both of their city teams, Cracovia Krakow and Wisla Krakow, have impressive and newly completed stadiums where you can enjoy a fun sports afternoon during your stay. Although Krakow wasn't chosen as one of the host cities during the Euro 2012 Championship in Poland and Ukraine, it is none the less an excellent destination for football fans, plus there are discounts for women and students under 26!
Shopping
From the open air flea markets at Plac Nowy and Hala Targowa to the shopping malls of the Main Square and the Galeria Kazimierz, Krakow offers the full range of shopping delights. Make sure you take your Krakow car rental to some of the antique, jewellery, and art shops in the Old Town, and don't miss the Rynek Glowny centre of trade where local artists sell beautiful amber jewellery and sheep skin rugs.
Salt Mines
Take a day trip to the salt mines of Wieliczka and Bochina with a car rental from Krakow. The ancient mines of Wieliczka are one of the original 12 UNESCO World Heritage sites and make a great tour as the area is now a huge museum. The even older mines in Bochnia are worth a visit as well.
Zakopane
Any winter visitors to Krakow or ski fans will want to take a day trip by car hire to Zakopane, the winter sport capital of Poland. There in the Tatra Mountains you can take full advantage of the blankets of snow that cover this region of Poland every winter.
Krynica
