Car Hire Policy for Optional Extras

When making a car hire reservation through CarHireX.com you will be given the opportunity to reserve optional extras with your car rental.  These may include but is not limited to an additional driver, child's booster seats, child's toddler seats, infant car seats, GPS Satellite Navigational System, and seasonally or location appropriate extras such as snow chains for your tyres.

It is important to note that not all Optional Extras will be listed in all car rental pick up locations, or be available with every vehicle from that location.  If you have begun the reservation process through our search engine and have selected a vehicle that does not have an extra you require listed as one of it's options, you can always go back and see if that extra will be listed as an option with other vehicles by selecting a different car hire from the search results.

It is also possible that not all optional extras for your selected vehicle are listed online, and you may be able to choose from a greater selection at the car rental service desk when you pick up your vehicle.

The Charges

Each Optional Extra that you choose to add to your car rental will be charged for separately and by the day, with a maximum charge set at roughly 10 days.  This keeps you from paying more than the value of the item just to rent it for 2 weeks.  

How You Pay

All Optional Extras, including additional drivers, must be paid for in the local currency at the service desk at the time of pick up.  Optional Extras will not be added or included into your total car rental price and will not be charged for through our CarTrawler booking engine.
