Wine Tasting in Temecula

Many wine lovers are familiar with California's Napa Valley, but the great state has another, less popularized wine region that features lovely weather year round; perfect for your winter holiday by car hire.  The Temecula wine region in California is located just an hour north of San Diego International Airport by car rental.  

Wine tasting in Temecula is widely available with over 30 wineries to choose from.  Popular tasting rooms include the Callaway winery, Thornton winery, Stuart Cellars, Mount Palomar, and Wilson Creek.  If you can plan your visit in June you can enjoy the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival.

Other activities to enjoy in Temecula by car rental include the Pechanga Resort and Casino, which offers a "Las Vegas gaming experience in Southern California"; the Palomar Observatory; Old Town Temecula, which has souvenir shops; and the Temecula Olive Oil Company, which offers olive oil tasting.  Temecula also has several nice restaurants, cute cafes, and a lively nightlife.
