The latest craze in cinema across the globe is 3D. The IMAX has been rolling out 3D films virtually unnoticed for years, and I suppose it is the "film" versus "movie" appeal that failed to draw the big crowds. Never the less, the latest movie to gain another dimension is available in IMAX 3D theaters, Real D 3D, Dolby 3D, XpanD 3D theaters and more to fill your next family vacation by car rental with entertainment.
So far, the majority of 3D options in to hit the theaters have been the family friendly kind, with a whole slew of animated tales, super hero and fantasy remakes and disney favorites. Book a 7 seater car rental and take the kiddies to see popular 3D flicks like Finding Nemo, a 3D remake of Dr. Sues's The Lorax, Disney's Tangled Ever After, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Happy Feet Two, and literally hundreds more!
There are also a hand full of tween flicks such as Hannah Montana and Glee, but those aren't likely to be available everywhere. Adults looking for 3D entertainment by car rental can find a few concert series movies such as Kenny Chesney or Phish 3D, a few action movies like Resident Evil and Clash of the Titans, or totally twist your mind and have a 3D heart attack at modern horror movies like Sanctum and Priest. You can find a great list of all the newest 3D movies to come out, but for times and availability you will need to check with local theaters in your car hire destination.
Parents with young children and sensitive individuals should take caution; the totally awesome three dimensional movie experience has been found to come with a whole slew of supposed side effects. Viewers have reported headaches, nausea, dizziness and even seizures brought on by the visuals of 3D movies. The Epilepsy Foundation has even posted warnings to it's members over specific 3D movies. Hot button movies for these types of side effects are Breaking Dawn, Avatar, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and Clash of the Titans.
