Menorca, an island of great contrast

A 45 kilometre road links both sides of Menorca. A rental car from Menorca Airport will take you to visit the island in comfort and at your own schedule.

On one side, Mahon, commercial city, capital since English domination in the 18th century. Ciudadella, on the other side, old medieval city, bearing today most of touristic industry. The difference between their structures has a lot to do with their history.

Most of eclectic power concentrated in Ciudadella during Middle Ages, while English rationalism from Colonial Ages established its base in western Mediterranean. These differences are ideal to establish a quarter division, which, although not formally existent, it's very useful to structure a guide.
