Pu'u Ualaka'a Park

Take your Honolulu car rental up the winding mountain road, nearly 2,000 feet above sea level, to view beautiful Oahu from Tantalus Drive and one of the amazing hiking trails at the top.  This is one of the best and easiest to reach views over the island, requiring the least amount of exercise, though providing the opportunity to hike around if you like.

Snorkeling 

There are several places to snorkel that you can drive to by car rental in Hawaii.  One of the best and most family friendly is Hanauma Bay.  The beach here is perfect for sunbathing, but the waters aren't much good for swimming due to all the coral.  The coral however, is precisely why Hanauma  Bay is an excellent destination; with nothing more than your swimsuit and some cheap snorkel gear you will be able to see worlds of interesting marine life under the surface of the water.

A much better place for those who want to get out and swim in the waters is Waikiki Beach.  There are almost always plenty of people at Waikiki Beach, and for a good reason!  This beach is an all around favorite for sunbathing, swimming, surfing, and more.  There are surf shops in the area that offer surf lessons on Waikiki beach.

Day Trips

The Pineapple Garden Maze
